All together now

Since the beginning of training in the new year all men train together. Ladies are welcome and will only benefit.

Training started some weeks ago. And there are lots of reasons to show up. The new coaching team of Rory, Steve, Kevin and Richard have pooled the first and second teams’ training. Thereby all will enjoy one “MRFC-Training”, now the same codes and moves. More people in training will enable the trainers to position to complete teams against each other. And it will raise competitiveness. Read the following Interview with Steve here

Update Project 2010

Happy New Year to all members, players and friends of MRFC.

As announced last year, despite our unsuccessful attempts with Gartenstadt Truedering to find a new home, Project 2010 is not dead. We have set up some specific goals for 2009 and we need, as always, your support and help to achieve these.

Firstly, now that the Foerderverein has been set up, it's time to fill its bank account. Goetz the chairman of the Foerderverein, has put together a flyer detailing the aims of the Foerderverein including details of the bank account. You can download the Flyer in English or in German. The Foerderverein committee met in early December and identified a long list of ex-members and players who we would like to contact throughout 2009 and ask for their support. We will be needing your help to find some of these people so you may be contacted in the near future by one of the Foerderverein members.

Secondly, the search goes on for a new permanent pitch for MRFC. We are looking for a partner with playing facilities who is open to a new, exciting and fast growing sport. We would be ready if needed to work closely with our new partner to improve their infrastructure (e.g. building of floodlights, possible financial support). We would require at least 3 nights a week use of a pitch plus at the weekends to play our games. The pitch would need to be a grass pitch with proper changing facilities.

Any of you who has found a possible playing ground should make initial contact with the new Club/Verein/Company by taking the MRFC Sponsprship package and introducing the club. It has all the information that is needed and can be downloaded here. You will also need to find out what type of playing facilities are available and if a pitch would be free. You will need to explain why we are looking for a new home (i.e. the club is now too large for the current set up we have and need separate training and playing for each of it's teams, the use of a club house etc.).

Any member who is talking to an interested party needs to find out these details and if they are still interested the next move is to tell Helmut and me and set up a meeting with us. It is not enough to simply tell Helmut or me that you have found a potential pitch and then giving us the address of it. We need you to find out the proper details first.

Lastly, we will be holding another Tombola sometime in 2009 and we would like to build on the success of the 2008 Tombola. We will be hoping to raise more money this time around and establish the Tomobola as an annual event.

That all for now. I look forward to working with each of you on moving forward on Project 2010.

Rory Donoghue.
